Who wins Baller League UK Season 4? We preview the contenders, pick out the dark horses and name our Golden Boot favourite ahead of the 12 October kick-off.

The season starts here

Baller League UK Season 4 kicks off on Monday 12 October 2026 with a reshaped 12-team line-up, new managers and a wave of former professionals. With the regular season spanning 11 matchdays and the top four reaching the Final Four, here is how we see the new campaign shaping up.

Title contenders

Prime FC. The reigning champions and the smart pick to go back-to-back. KSI’s side won it all last season and still have one of the deepest, most attacking squads in the league. The target is on their backs now, but the quality is undeniable.

NDL FC. The regular-season leaders in Season 3, NDL were the standout team over 11 gameweeks before falling short in the Final. With Niko Omilana at the helm and a settled squad, they will be desperate to go one better.

Deportrio. Perhaps the most intriguing side in the league. Micah Richards’ squad is stacked with ex-professionals — Ben Mee, Joleon Lescott, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Marvin Sordell and Martyn Waghorn — making them genuine contenders if the veterans gel.

SDS. A consistent force, SDS have the firepower to beat anyone on their day and will fancy a top-four push.

N5. Jens Lehmann’s side now boast a remarkable ex-Premier League core (Billy Sharp, Nile Ranger, Joe Bennett), which could make them the season’s most improved team.

Dark horses

Toma. The league’s newest franchise, led by Jay-Jay Okocha, is the great unknown. New squads can take time to settle, but Okocha’s aura and attacking philosophy make Toma a fascinating wildcard.

P17 FC. The rebranded Rukkas side, now managed by Alex Iwobi, could surprise people. Former Republic of Ireland defender Ciaran Clark anchors a solid defensive unit.

RTG FC. Danny Aarons’ rebranded outfit has a point to prove and nothing to lose — the kind of team that can catch the establishment cold.

Golden Boot

The all-time scoring charts are led by Francis Mampolo (45 goals) and Bilal Sayoud (42), and both return for the new season. Tyler Winters (37) is another proven finisher. Our early favourite is Mampolo, but the Game Changer windows mean a fast starter can rack up goals in a hurry — so expect the race to go deep.

Ones to watch

  • The Game Changers. With two activations per match, the rule twists will decide games. Teams that adapt fastest — especially to 1-on-1 and The Line — will overperform.
  • The new managers. Iwobi, Okocha and Aarons are the storylines of the summer. How quickly they adjust to management will shape their teams’ seasons.
  • Opening night. Six fixtures, six chances for an early statement. See our Gameweek 1 preview.

Our prediction

We expect a tight title race, with Prime and NDL leading the way and a heavily strengthened Deportrio pushing hard. Do not be surprised if one of the new-look sides — Toma or P17 FC — crashes the Final Four. Whatever happens, expect goals: the league averaged 7.3 per game across its first three seasons.
